If you wish to make a complaint against the Chief of Police, the complaint will immediately be turned over to the Mayor for investigation. If you wish to make a complaint about an officer or reserve officer, the Chief of Police will investigate the complaint. Every attempt will be made to inform the individual who made the complaint of the status, what disciplinary action was or was not taken, and what may happen in the future in regards to the complaint. Security Check Report
Are you going on vacation? If you are, the Palouse Police Department would be glad to check on your residence or business while you are away. In fact you don’t have to be going on vacation to take advantage of this service by the Police Department. If you need to go away for a few days for work, or know that you will be having surgery and will be in the hospital overnight, just fill out the form below and drop it off at City Hall. An officer will try to check the location you list on the form at least once a day. We only check the outside area of the residence or business and we do not go inside even if asked. The common things that we check are doors, windows, outbuildings, etc. to make sure they are secure and in the same condition as you left them. If you have any questions you can call or e-mail the Police Department.
Remember, one of the best security devices you can invest in is a dead-bolt lock. Vacation checks by the department should not be used as a substitute for a good lock. We would rather combine this service with a good lock on your home to provide strong security for your family.
